IDF Distinguished Musicians Unit

Each year Hassadna students are accepted to the highly competitive Distinguished Musicians unit of the IDF, enabling them to continue their music education during their army service.

Competitive international music colleges and conservatories

Hassadna graduates continue their education in highly competitive institutions in Israel and abroad, including the Juilliard School in New York, Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music, the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and the Barenboim-Said Academie in Berlin.

Prestigious programs and festivals

Hassadna students have participated in prestigious international programs and festivals including the Perlman Music Program, the Heifetz Music Camp, and the Aspen Music Festival.

Salzburg Opera Camp

In the summers of 2018 and 2019, some young Hassadna musicians, together with 30 music students from around the world, had a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to put on an entire opera under the direction of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in the magical city of Salzburg. We are grateful to the Leir Foundation and the American Austrian Foundation for making it possible for Hassadna’s students to participate in this amazing summer camp.

Special Prize from the Jerusalem Municipality

In January 2019, we were honored to receive a prize from the Jerusalem Municipality for our Music for Children of Ethiopian Descent program. The prize was awarded for our achievement in promoting the integration and education of the Ethiopian community in Jerusalem. We are grateful to the Jerusalem Municipality for this great honor and recognition.
